Welcome to another round of Five Minute Friday, where bloggers from all corners of the internet gather to feverishly tap out five minutes of free writing on a given prompt each week.
If you don’t know what we’re all about, click here for more info!
This week’s prompt is:
Stretch your fingers, set your timer, and let’s … GO.
***
Open our minds, Lord, to know your goodness. Fill us with Your truth.
Open our hearts, to feel Your love. To know Your tender mercies. Soften us to pour that same love into empty cups. Cause our hearts to beat with Yours.
Open our hands, Lord, that we might be subject to Your will. You are the potter; we are the clay. Mold us and make us, we pray.
Open our ears, Lord, that we would hear Your voice. In the roar of thunder and in the silence of freshly fallen snow. In the whisper of the wind and in hard pellets of rain. Train us to be discerning, and to obey.
Open our mouths, Lord. Make us hunger for Your righteousness. Fill us with the bread of life. Give us morsels that will sustain. Quench our thirst for You.

Show us your glory.

STOP.

Oh friend, we were on the same page tonight! Loved this prompt. Love your post. Love you too!
Reading this made me think of Psalm 34:8 – “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” And Psalm 81:10 –
“Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” Yes!
Yes! Open our eyes to really see. I think I do a lot of stumbling around blindly ;).
Praying we may all be open to God and all His possibilities! Love this!
Amen. That is beautiful, Kate. Makes me want to rejoice!
Love this, Kate!
Love! Open my eyes, Lord. I want to see Jesus!
Oh yes! I love this prayer. It’s what we all need really, isn’t it. I want my eyes opened to more of His glory. Thanks for hosting us today.
Open to God…Open my heart, Lord, I want to see Jesus!! Totally skipped looking for “the word” last night; but will get it posted this morning!
Thanks for kicking it off for me this morning!
Kate – so want to be open to all that our God is & wants to be in my life. Beautiful thoughts. So grateful you picked the word “open” this week! Blessings!
Beautiful words Kate!
Just lovely, Kate – all the ways we can pursue God for our openness and allow Him to direct us. He is so sufficient. Blessings to you and thanks for hosting us once again. 🙂
Amen and amen.
