This week’s Five Minute Friday prompt is:

after.

But before I begin, I want to point you to Five-Minute Friday’s founder, Lisa-Jo Baker.  Her post this week is the post I couldn’t write.  In five minutes, she writes the song that plays on repeat in my heart.  She paints the landscape that I see day in and day out.  She knows.  She gets it.  She is one living in the after.

Now, for this week’s five minutes …

Ready, set … go:

after the flood, there was a rainbow

after the storm, there is calm

after winter comes the spring

after the darkness of night peeks the dawn of a new day

after the surgery comes recovery

after a fall, there is rising

after the chrysalis, wings break forth

after the cross, there was a resurrection

after this life, there is more

after death comes life, and life eternal

“if only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men …”  (1 corinthians 15:19)
